Neurontin, Seroquel, and suicidal
Q: I am now taking neurotin, about 24,00 mg a day. But I still have periods
of suisidal thoughts and severe mania. But I am not taking all of my seroquil
due to weight gain.....any suggestions.connie

Some general ideas, at least. First, I hate to say it but the Neurontin is
associated with weight gain too, so be sure you know which one to hold back
on. As you may know, I'm not much of a Neurontin fan (since the only
randomized trials show it to be slightly worse for bipolar mood stability than
placebo (!)). So, the last general thought would be "time to go for
the known mood stabilizers" (presuming you have bipolar disorder as the
basis for your symptoms):
lithium,
Depakote, and a
list of others.
